12 weeks pregnant - unable to urinate!

I'm 12 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy and for a few times had trouble urinating. First couple times, a sneeze or simulated sneeze were all I need so the problem didn't last long. This time, I wasn't able to go for 3 hours after I woke up with a full bladder! Finally I filled a bathtub with warm water and I I pee-ed a little, for twice. Then I tilted my body completely backward on the potty and that worked for a little, I got a few trickles. Does anybody have this problem? I really don't want to go into the ER to have them cath me, especially my two other DDs are still sleeping. I don't know if what I'm having now is just from trying to urinate too hard earlier thus resulting sore muscles in the lower abs, or if my bladder is still full... feel too tense to go back to sleep, and haven't pee-ed in the past 3 hours... need advice! I haven't even settled on a mid-wive yet (I like all 3 I've talked to!), and so don't feel comfortable calling in the middle of the night. thanks!

Hmmmmm. Could it possibly be a urinary tract infection? In the past when I've had one, I have a hard time peeing. Try drinking a lot of water, as well as cranberry juice.

If nothing else, do you have a primary healthcare provider you could see until you decide on a midwife?

If the problem continues call a dr. It is possible that you have what is called an incarcerated uterus (you can google it) and that is what is preventing you from being able to pee. It can cause a miscarriage if not corrected so be sure to get it checked!
