favorite seed catalog - Page 2

Has anyone mentioned Richters yet? They're Canadian but do ship to the U.S., and if anyone likes growing herbs, culinary or medicinal, their selection is pretty awe inspiring.

Oh, and the Kitazawa Seed Company is great for finding some select asian varities that might be hard to come by through less specialist sources.

Jumping in to sub to this thread.

I have serious visions on gardening this year! My youngest will be able to hang in the yard while I work. I need to get back in shape and my gardens are a mess. I can't wait to start looking through catalogs again. I have fallen off of the mailing list of the ones I used to get.

High Mowing

Territorial
Seed Savers Exchange

In that order....

I have a new catalog that I'm loving right now. It's Berlin Seeds. Berlin is in the middle of a huge Amish community near where I live. I stumbled upon the store a few weeks ago and picked up their catalog. It's nice for me because they're cheap, and in my zone. If you want a catalog, call 1-877-464-0892. They have seeds, plants, kitchen items, and all kinds of gardening accessories.

Hey, OP, where in N.Cal are you? Because Baker Creek Seeds recently opened a retail "seed bank" in Petaluma. So you can go through the catalog, mark your faves, and then go buy the seeds in person! Cooooool.

Oh wow, that is awesome. I'm 4.5 hours north of petaluma but I do get down there occasionally. I'd love to go in person!

I love getting Ritchters and horizon herbs.I love to read about the uses for the plants.I have also bought from bountiful gardens and sandhill preservation.I love the photos from seed savers, seed exchange, and bakers creek.I also get prairie moon nursery for native flowers,grasses,vines...going to order from them this year.

I am a big fan of edible, medicinal, and VERY TALL plants. I like vining plants too.

I pretty much order all the catalogs I can...parks,thompson,select seeds, garden alive to name a few more.

And although Diannes seed(oregon) has no catalog her seeds are good and so is her service.I got some amaranth one year that rocked!

Yeppers, I certainly don't order 'em for the articles *GUFFAW*

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

If I'm not on every single gardening mailing list that exists (thanks to this thread btw!) then the internet has officially failed me

Can't WAIT for the mail to come!!

I would find a local seed company. There's lots out there. I love Territorial, which may work for you, they're in central Oregon. I would try to find places even more local to you though and see what they have too.
