Christmas Eve crockpot suggestions

Who has a good idea for a Christmas even crockpot meal?

I will likely be in the kitchen making bread and cookies, possibly pie, and I don't want to deal with dinner. Plus we have church at 7 pm.

Chilli is my old stand-by, but it doesn't feel traditional enough for Christmas eve. We eat meat and have no allergies and no objections to commercially canned food.

I made a really good beef stew last Christmas Eve in the crock pot.

Roast. Just throw it in with some salt and pepper and throw some onions carrots and potatoes in.

What about roast turkey? That's a pretty traditional Christmas eve dinner. I usually put 1 can of turkey stock or broth, 1/2 can of water, 1 lb of carrots, and 1 potato for each person in the crock pot. Then I place the turkey on top, season w/ pepper and sea salt, garlic powder and a bit of paprika. I cook on high for 1 hour, then low for 2-4 hours. I season with some rosemary right before serving. Use any left overs for pot pies, stew, soup and sandwiches! I just made this for my in-laws a few weeks ago and they loved it!

ETA: I'm a dunce...I meant to type roast chicken, but I was thinking about turkey, dur. But I guess either can work.

I like chicken or turkey stew, goes well with bread or even dumplings cooked in the same crockpot.

I'm chiming in too late for Christmas Eve, but (for next year!) how about this chicken dish? It's really good!

2 leeks, sliced and rinsed

6 chicken thighs, bone in and skin removed

2 cups frozen corn

1 large carrot, thinly sliced

2 tomatoes, coarsely chopped

1 clove garlic, pressed

1 tsp/5 mL dried oregano (or 2 tsp/10 mL fresh)

1/2 tsp/2 mL dried thyme (or 1 tsp/5 mL fresh)

1/2 tsp/2 mL salt

1/4 tsp/1 mL pepper

Place the leeks in the bottom of the crockpot.
Lay the chicken on top.
Spread the corn and the carrots over the chicken.
In a small bowl, combine the tomatoes, garlic, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper. Spoon this into the crockpot.
Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for about 7 hours, until chicken is no longer pink inside.
