9 hours too long?

DS is 13 1/2 months and still nurses on demand but typically goes in the morning, before (and sometimes after) naps, before bed and during the night. He's with a nanny 3 days a week for 6.5hours per day. I currently pump 1x on those days for the freezer and he then gets about 5oz frozen milk with his lunch. He hasn't been drinking much of the milk lately and I'm getting tired of pumping. Do you think it would be "okay" to stop pumping and once the freezer stash is gone just giving him water or possibly hemp milk with lunch? That would mean he could possibly go 9 hours without milk on those days. He does tend to hunker down for a good nursing once the nanny leaves. It seems straight forward to me but I just want to make sure there's not some hidden issue I'm not seeing. Thanks!

There is nothing I can think of that you are missing! You say he's nursing at night, so going 9hrs without milk in the daytime is just like other toddlers who sleep through the night and consume milk in the daytime, but I'm sure he'd do fine even if he stopped night nursing.

Thank you. I told DH I was thinking of stopping pumping and he said "Done!" like it was that easy. I think he's excited to see all the clutter of pump parts and storage tubes packed away.

I think this was the exact age that I also stopped pumping. DS was fine, although he still takes a bottle of some type of non Mommy milk or water before his nap if he is not with me. I remember feeling like "oh my gosh! I actually pumped for over a year and now it is done! Yippee!" (I hated pumping). There weren't any issues when I stopped and DS still nurses at 19 months.

Ds can comfortably go that long without bfing now. He is offered cow's milk but rarely takes it but does eat a lot of food during that time.
