flat head

dd had a preference for the right side since she was a newborn. I noticed it very early and I started alternating sides and wearing her as much as she'd let me, but her head doesn't seem perfectly symmetrical to me. If it stays like it is now, it would be perfect. What I'm worried about is her developing a flat spot now, although she is almost 3 months old.

Do you know of any babies who got a flat spot after 3 months? Is the critical time frame over?

I already mentioned it to my doc at 2 months check up, but he said it was normal for all babies to develop a preference, but he didn't look closely at her head. I'm going for another check up after Christmas, but I'd really like to know your opinion.

Thanks!

I think it depends on how bad it is. With my babies I would switch which side I layed them on for naps & for DS I had to switch sides of the bed because his was still getting bad. They have perfect heads now though if it makes ya feel better.

DD had a preference for one side when she was a babe, and she did have a flat spot for a while that really freaked me out. I think it completely rounded out/fixed itself by the time she was 2 YO. I've been really aware of this with DS and am hoping to avoid the problem this time around.
