What size duvet for 16mo-old in twin bed?

I've decided to transition DS from the crib to a twin bed mattress on the floor sometime in the next week or so, but can't decide if I should get him a twin-size duvet or stick with the crib-size duvet we've already got.

I'm thinking a twin-size would be more likely to stay ON as DS is a fairly active sleeper, but I'm also thinking it might make him more likely to get tangled in it (he's been in sleep sacks up to now). WWYD?

Twin sized blankets are designed to hang off the edge of the bed, and could be a tripping hazard for a bed on the floor.

I'd go with a crib-sized blanket for a toddler, if you use a blanket at all (why not keep using the sleep sacks?) You can always buy a larger blanket later when he outgrows the crib blanket.

"Throw blankets" are also nice for preschoolers- they're bigger than crib blankets but still smaller than twin blankets. But for a toddler, the crib blankets are perfect IMO.

Thanks for the input, I hadn't considered the tripping hazard a twin duvet could become around the bed. I'd keep him in a sleepsack, but he's pretty much outgrown the ones we own and it's really hard to find 18mo+ sleepsacks around here. (Besides the fact that it adds an interesting challenge to nighttime pottying... )
