Tell me about raw milk & soy milk

I know there are some controversies on raw milk but I'm curious the benefits of it and soy milk vs. organic cows milk. Thank you.

If you are interested in positive information about soy milk, may I recommend posting this on the nutrition and good eating forum or vegan/vegetarian, instead of the traditional foods forum? You might get better answers there.

Most TFers avoid soy (or unfermented soy) for several reasons. I'd be happy to talk about them, though its easy to research them. I don't want to come off sounding preachy, and would rather you gather your own info. It is worth the research though.

As for the benefits of raw milk, as compared to pasturized milk, I only know partly, and hopefully other mama's can enlighten both of us. (I prefer it because it tastes better, feels better, and is traditional, and I know its better.) Partly it is because raw cows milk contains lots of beneficial bacteria, and partly because pasturization denatures enzymes in cow's milk that help with its digestion, and may destroy vitamins in the milk

ITA, we are firmly in the "avoiding soy" camp here.
Research into the benefits of raw milk is what convinced us to try raw milk but we continue to drink it because we like it.

We also avoid all soy (as much as we can, its in EVERYTHING!). We drink raw milk because of the researched benefits. We also love supporting our farmer that provides the grass-fed, free range milk.

Yep, we also avoid soy (even go to great lengths to get organic soy-free feed for our chickens!). As for raw milk- we love that it is a whole food (even adults can live with it as their sole source of nutrition-- google "milk diet"), self digesting (like breast milk), supports a local farmer and his family, and a lot more heart healthy than the denatured, dead, homogonized version. We love our raw milk, butter, cream, cheese, kefir, etc
