6mo old shakes head. . .

Is this normal? Is she just learning a new skill? She started shaking her head side to side recently (like a fast "no"). Just wondering. . .

TIA

She's probably just realized that when she shakes her head, sounds are different and it's neat to her. All of my kids did that!!

I asked same question about my (now almost 8mo) DS like a month ago... he was shaking his head like that too and I was freaking out!!! Almost everyone that posted a response, and that I've talked to IRL since, said that many babes do this when they pee and that it is totally normal It has something to do with the sensation/ very slight, momentary drop in body temp when the urine leaves the body.

LOL -- I freaked out when Kate did it around 5-6 months thinking she was having a seizure. Apparently it was just fun for her to do. It was just a phase and now when she shakes her head 'NO' it's because she's saying no.

My baby started doing that around 7 or 8 months and still does at 10 months. He likes to do it back and forth with us and we say "shake shake shake" when he does it. Just a fun game for him. Of course, it's not helping us teach him that that gesture means "no"

My son (8 months) nods his head sometimes. So like a yes motion instead of a no. It freaked me out a bit at first but now I think he just likes the feeling. And if I imitate him, he'll do it more.
