Wisdom Tooth Removel

Hi,
I had two wisdom teeth removed today..
One of them had an Infection, the dentist said I should take antibiotics to make sure the infection doesn't come back.
Is that really necessary?
I really dislike taking antibiotics.......

I also really don't like them either, they are aweful in my opinion. However, I am taking one right now because of a wisdom tooth infection that hasn't gone away and I really do not want it to get worse and spread. It would be much worse if the infection did spread. Just because they took your tooth out doesn't mean they took your infection out. Especially since you already had an exsisting infection and then under went this procedure I would think that there would be more places for the infection to spread to, imo.

good luck!

I would take them for a tooth/gum infection. The risks of not getting rid of the infection are pretty grim - abscess, further tooth loss etc.

for this situtation I would take the antibiotics.
