Help me with polio history links!

Today I had a nice discussion about vaccines with a friend who has a young son. He brought up polio example and I told him I'd send him some links about it. If you have good links about polio history (and in general how deseases declined long before vaccines ever came to the picture) help me out please.

That was before the vaccine came on the market. It became a different matter after the vaccine was introduced.

I realize that this doesn't qualify as a real source because it's a documentary (and a lot of people don't consider them a real source of info because of the potential bias), but here's a link you can send your friend to the documentary called 'Vaccine Nation'. It's incredible and the doc starts with Polio info.

i just watched the movie, great movie indeed. thanks for the link! however, there was not much of a history in there.
