When DD (23 months) tantrums, I usually try to distract her by asking her where things are. "Where's (the ceiling fan, the couch, your nose, your shoulder, your belly button, etc)" After four or five "Where is" questions, she normally has completely calmed down and forgotten she's upset, and then she goes back to playing or whatever.
Well today, she was touching my laptop, and I told her no and moved her hand away. Normally this would spark a tantrum, but instead, she pointed to her juice and said "juice." I said, "Yes, that's your juice." Then she pointed to a picture of a car on the wall, and said "Car." And I said "Yes, that's a car." and then she just smiled and walked off to play.
Anyway, I just wanted to share because it gave me a laugh and I thought it was really cute. I'm not sure if she was trying to distract me from the fact that she was messing with my laptop, or if she just knew that's what I'd do if she started a tantrum over being told no, but either way it was funny.
