I am 22 weeks, with my second baby. In the past few weeks, as my stomach has started to pop out, I have noticed a pain above my belly button. I had an inguinal hernia with my first pregnancy, and it feels similar, although it is not bulging. It seems to bother me more while standing and when I press on it.
I have a doctor's appointment next week, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. The first time around, my doctor (a different one) sent me to see a surgeon to get his opinion on whether it would be advisable to have a vaginal birth, with the inguinal hernia. He said it would be fine, and I had a natural, vaginal birth. I'm hoping that would be the case this time.
Have any of you experienced a similar pain, and if so what was the verdict? Also, have any of you been diagnosed with hernias and gone on to have healthy vaginal deliveries?
Thanks so much!
