New Couch to 5K thread? - Page 9

Wooo-hoooo!

Just got done with W6D3. I hadn't run since Wednesday, due to childcare issues, so I was determined to get out tonight, as soon as I got back from dropping the kids off with their dad.

The first 5-8 min. were rough, but once I got going, and started thinking about things other than the fact that I was running , I did fine. Course it helped that the route I took gave me a long steep downhill for my last 5 minutes .

The route I took is actually a 5 mile loop from my house, so after the run I walked the rest of the way home (the portion of the loop with the long steep UPhills!).

Keep going everyone, it feels soooo good to have gotten this far!

Congrats to everyone for their great progress!

I did w7d1- which is a straight 25 min run. I did 24 minutes off it and walked two 30 second stretches. I guess there is no point in repeating since it is the same for a while. It was raining and my socks and shoes were soggy in less than 5 minutes. Not very comfortable. I think maybe it affected my motivation? I am so ready for some sun! None in the forecast for another week.

Uh, guess I didn't realize it was just straight running from here on out! So I guess I'm going to get in 2-3 25 min runs this week! Can't believe it! I do all my running on a treadmill while the kids are asleep in the afternoon. Guess I need to get out and hit the road to see how far I'm going! Week 7, here I come!

Looks like this thread died a bit ago, but I'm trying to revive it!

I just started Couch to 5k yesterday. I got up really early, and walked/jogged around the local cemetery. I only made it 15 minutes, though (out of 20).

I got blisters on my feet, and I'm going to buy new sneakers tomorrow, and see how it goes.

I'll join!

I used to run competitively beginning when I was 10 with an AAU track team. Made it to Junior Olympics in the mile somehow and continued through high school. I even had some scholarship offers, but turned it all down because I had had enough running to last me a while.

Now, I'm 22, have a 19 month old, and I'm looking to get back in the game! The C25k program looks neat...I'll try it! There's a 5K in October that I'd like to run...but maybe that's too soon? IDK...

I ran today...about 20 min. continuously, but it was the muggiest EVER and HOT, so I felt very sick afterwards...definitely need to start off lighter!

I'm set to do W7D1 on Sunday. I hadn't ran so much as thirty feet since 7th grade until I started this program. It took me a month of attempts to finish W1D1! But I went after it relentlessly and I am making much better progress now. Super love this program :-).

And I am SO nervous because I signed up for a two mile run/race at the end of August. I'm all nervous about running in front of real runners...I might have a self validating issue here

I'm on w5d2 and I LOVE it! I spent much longer on week 1, just so that I could build up my stamina a bit. After I finish this, I'm training for a 10k and then a half marathon.
