What to put on baby?

I've noticed that DS gets really warm in his Sleepy Wrap, so when I put him in it, I just have him in a diaper so he wont overheat.

I'm (attempting) to venture out of the house with him in his wrap for the first time tmrw, and I'm wondering what to dress him in??

We live in Salt Lake, UT. Its cold here, and has been snowing this week.

What do you guys do in this situation?

I'm also kind of wondering what to do when it gets to be summer here... We get pretty cold here in the winter, and then really hot in the summer Seems like the stretch wrap fabric is really warm.

Thanks!!

I live in a cold area too. I put my daughter in a long sleeved onsie or shirt pants and maybe a light jacket if its really cold. Then I put her in the wrap and put on my coat which is two sizes too big for me and zip it up around both of us. She seems pretty toasty sleeps the whole time she's wrapped.

How did it go? I know I'm too late, but I would have advised making short enough trips that you can adjust if necessary until you get more comfortable guessing for the temp.

By summer, you'll have a whole different guy. You may prefer different carriers and he will fit differently in them. Outside, we dress for sun protection despite the heat, and inside we do whatever works. Babywearing gets hot in the summer. I wore 2 in Ergos front and back all summer this year and there were some sweaty gross days but you get used to the extra warmth and it is not so bad.

I ended up putting him in some cotton pj's. I wanted him covered all the way, bc its bitter cold out, but I was so worried about him overheating in his wrap!

It worked out fine though, I think I worry about everything too much sometimes.

We ended up going on a pretty long shopping trip on the 24th, and the 26th. He did great, and I was so worried bc he gets fussy in his wrap at home, but since I was walking the whole time, he was very content.

He did start to get a little warm while walking in the mall on the 26th, so I just took him out of it for a while and held him in my arms, then popped him back in!

Also, I feel SO proud of myself now too... I nursed DS in public for the first time ever on 26th.... twice! Once in the mall, and then again in the grocery store. No one even looked twice, I just felt awesome about it
