Issues with dishwasher

I have gone back to using baking soda and vinegar in our dishwasher. The dishes are getting clean but it seems like they have coating of something on them. Like the glasses are muggy and the silverware arent shiny. Is there something I am forgetting or I can add?

I would love to know. I had to give up on the baking soda & vinegar 'cause of this. It took several washes with a green commercial detergent to get rid of the coating.

I also tried borax/baking soda & that wasn't any better.

I tried and tried with the vinegar and baking soda. It got worse 'n worse. Now I use Ecover tablets. One tablet in the open cup, and white vinegar in the closed/second wash cup. Beautiful, sparkling dishes and it feels to me like I've gotten all the film off the dishes I possibly can.
