Holiday Feasting on everything but TF!!! :(

Any TF mommies out there who are spending the holidays with family members whom eat nothing but MSG/preservatives/artificial-filled everything, and have no choice but to eat what's served, or starve, for an entire week??? Just looking for some support and friends to vent to.

No, I love to cook (and I'm pretty good at it) so I just make all the food.

Ugh, I've eaten crap for 3 days. So the baking was all me, but hey its Christmas. Back on track tomorrow, right?

Well, enjoy a bit of it, then send it to work with your partner or take it to work with you.

Ugh...I am so with you!
DH and I are just trudging through feeling bloated and tired; as soon as my family leaves my house we are getting right back on track!
On a positive note, we are now reminded of how much better we feel when we are eating properly!

Tomorrow night I am back home.... 1000 miles from where I sit now. My tummy is on fire from so much acidity... More coffee and wine than a 110 lb. woman should consume on a daily basis, and no veggies. But whatever. What bothers me most is that my little 21 mth. old daughter has been fed nothing but white flour crap for 6 days now. Man does it feel good to be in control of your life! About 24 more hours (not that I'm counting)!... Haha! Gotta love life (and the fact that I can't make everyone in it just like me....)

I'm in this situation. Today I was sick and no energy. For the last two days I've had a headache. I've not eaten candy or cakes - no sweets. Just the nitrate pork stuffs, some coffee, and some ham with glaze on it. Maybe some canola oil on some beans. Otherwise, I've avoided horrible things. Just not eating as well as I usually do. I couldn't take food with us with all of our other stuff, and our parents won't let me cook. I know I'm bloated. It'll take a week or more to get over. hehe

OH YES!!!! My man and I are having a hard time b/c while my mother is one of the most radically minded and aware humans I know and yet there is a MAJOR disconnect b/tn belief and practice. While there are local healthy eggs in the fridge, the sausage defrosting on the counter one day was laced with MSG and more... ARGGG. While I remain so grateful to be fed meal after meal from my mother's skilled cooking hands (and it is all paid for), I had to say no to that meat. Ironically, we gave her a copy of Weston A. Price's book "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" for christmas. I know in part this disconnect is b/c of my father and sister who are picky eaters and have been eating non-organic, processed foods for so long. SIGHHHH and I don't want to spend my time ALWAYS passing judgement, but in many ways I can't wait to get back to my country living, organic and local diet, NO WHITE SUGAR and my cod liver oil.
btw this reminds me of an old time woody guthrie song for kids in which one line goes "i want my cod liver oil! and i want it now!" LOVE IT!!!

Update: DH and I now both have sore throats and are congested Neither of us can even remember the last time we were sick. In addition, I am incredibly tired and my face is breaking-out...arghhhh!
I am 100% convinced that all of the above is a direct result of our poor eating habits the past few weeks! I desperately need these holidays to end!!!

I love that song and sing it to my kids when they get their CLO! I think it makes it go down smoother, they love CLO!

I am sick for the first time this year! I feel bloated and just ugh! But I did only really consume non-TF sweets at my parents and we ate out a few times. I tried to only eat my TF goodies I took, but the other stuff looked good (at the time!). We are getting back on track though! Next year it will hopefully be my house for Thanksgiving and Xmas!

We left home on Dec. 22 for a very long trip with many visits along the way. I packed kefir, cream top milk, fruits/veggies and good foods for the car, but once we are with family, we eat what they eat. Although there are some veggies included, it doesn't make up for the rest of what we are eating. Especially my kids! We do NOT buy cereal in our house, but my cousin has about 15-20 boxes in her pantry and the kids think they can eat as much as they want. When DH and I left the kids with my aunt and uncle, my aunt let them eat anything they wanted. I absolutely love my family, but I can't wait to get home and back to our regular foods.

I'm glad someone started this thread, because I was about to start one just like it.
