Lack of appitite

So, I totally have no desire to eat lately. I think it started after I had a sore throat for a week and a half were for almost a full week I couldn't eat with a lot of pain, except broth and noodles. I couldn't even really drink anything without pain either. It is doing well now, except very cold things still make it hurt.

But now, I have this huge lack of desire to eat. For instance today - 1/2 a pancake; 5 Chick Fil A Nuggets with about 3 large waffle fries; 1 cup carmel corn; 10-12 pizza rolls. Now I am about to have some chicken noodle soup, because I am getting hungry, but that is been my total food intake for the last 24 hours.

Oh, and I have not gained any weight. Prior to getting sick, I was about 3 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. I am now 10 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. I have weighed myself at home and have not gained anything, so it seems on my scale, in two weeks time since my OB appointment.

Anyone else going through this.

I've found that although I don't *feel* hungry, if I present my body with some good nutrition-rich food, I suddenly have this animal-like instinct to gobble it all up!

I'm talking lots of veggies (dark greens and sweet potatoes in particular, for me), grass-fed beef, etc. etc. When I'm preparing it, I'm not all that keen on it but as soon as I plate up, my body is totally craving it.

HTH.

I almost never want to eat lately, but I find that if I don't, I get much more tired and find it hard to function. So I'm eating now more because I have to, not because it appeals.

Food and I are not interacting well right now. I've found I NEED to follow whatever sounds kinda good or else I'll avoid eating long enough to make my blood sugar crash

I'd say try to find something that sounds alright and then build from there Mama. If you can't even do that pick good nutrient dense food that is easy to eat, if you eat dairy go for smoothies, if you want icecream add some peanut-butter one top etc. Good luck!

Also, friends of mine have drilled into me the importance of protein shakes in the morning to help you feel better. They're also supposed to help with swelling later on.
