I talked to my sister!

A big step for me, let me tell you! She's my baby sister, and no where close to be married, but she questioned my descion to not circ my DS (don't you want his penis to be pretty?).

She was pretty reistant to talking about it at first (ew!), but now at least sees my side of things-- and I think she agrees with me.

It's a hope I have that any more family members be spared this procedure in the future.

Thanks you guys for the inspiriaiton and courage!

I think the penis in its natural state is pretty. Using that as a reason to cirq is pretty shallow and silly.

Congratulations on planting a seed! The earlier, the better, IMO.

Congratulations! My little sister is 16, and I brought up circumcision when we were talking about how disgusting we find ear piercings on anyone younger than teenage, but especially babies and toddlers. It resonated because my sister does not have her ears pierced and is really happy to be hole-free, so she thinks girls should be able to choose. I bridged the conversation to circ, and is was very short. She was utterly horrified to find out what it was, and instantly swore she'd never circ EVER. I asked what she'd do if her husband really really wanted to, and she said he'd just have to deal with it because no way was she cutting off part of her baby's private parts. She's the softest hearted person in the world, so I have no doubt she'll feel the same in 10 or 15 years.

Now...if god/gods see(s) fit to give my brother and SIL more girls, I'll have all intact nieces and nephews
