I was wondering if anyone had any info on VPDs in Czech. We will be visiting sometime within in the next 6 months, and don't vaccinate. Obviously we won't vaccinate just for this trip, but I'd like an idea anyway.
Thanks!
Seems to be the routine shots plus typhoid. I've traveled to typhoid-prone regions with my child, and just used regular food prep precautions, though. Food must be boiled, cooked, or peeled by me. No raw fruits or veggies (again unless peeled). No ice. No food purchased from street vendors.
We recently were in the Czech Republic and took our babe who is very selective/delayed vaxed and doesn't have typhoid, although DH and I have had the shot. We ate lots of raw fruits, veggies, and food from street vendors-I actually never thought twice about it. It's a beautiful country-enjoy your trip!
I lived in the Czech Republic in 2002. It's hardly different than here in terms of cleanliness and risk of disease. All of my Czech friends had never been vaccinated, and none of them died of any weird or exotic diseases. (And none had autoimmune disorders caused by vaccines either!)
No worries. And no need for vaccines for this trip!
