Freeze Milk?

Can I freeze milk so I can buy it in bulk? We live near Brown Cow...it's about 90 minutes from here, and I'd love to buy some raw milk there but I don't want to have to go every 2 weeks, kwim? I was wondering if it'd be ok to buy in bulk and then put it in the deep freeze. If so, do you know how long it can stay frozen for? Does freezing it make it lose some of it's nutrients?

I have regularly frozen milk with good results. The fat texture is a bit weird when it's defrosted but nothing major. Given that yogurt can be frozen for a few weeks and still recultured, I think the loss of nutrients and bacteria is minimal.

We freeze it all the time! It's the most cost effective way for me to buy it and store it in my deep freeze. It does change the texture a bit; the fat won't completely mix back in. Picky kids don't like it...All the more for me!

My milk comes frozen (especially these cold days lol) and ive never had that much of an issue with the fat globbing together.

It all depends on how long I have it in the fridge before i finish it. The longer i take to finish it, the more globs i find at the bottom and such.

Other than that, as far as I can tell, its as creamy and incorporated as ever.

Maybe I'll just get their skim milk and then I wouldn't even have to worry about it not incorporating. I can just see my kids' reaction to it now.

As far as I have read, raw skim milk is not really the point of raw milk (most of the nutrients are in the milkfat?). I'd love to hear another viewpoint on this because raw skim milk is half the cost around here.......

I'm mostly buying it because I don't want to support the way "regular" cows are treated and such. The organic milk at the grocery store is only $0.30 less than the raw local organic. I figure it's worth the extra money for it not to be ultra pasteurized and to also support a local farm.
