Which toys are already broken??

Ugh, the cheap plastic stuff seems to be even worse this year!

Both "Gator Golf" and "Rock em sockem robots" () are already broken.

Good grief!

What is already heading for the trash bin at your house?
Nothing heading for the trash bin, but we are already missing a couple of "rocks" (bumpy gray balls) from the play mobil catapult, and the chain from the flail had to be repaired with tape. Yeap, it came with a teeny tiny flail with the most delicate chain you can imagine. I'm rather torn between being mildly appalled at the violence level and really impressed by the historical accuracy. We have a few romans, a pirate and a few knights they each come with different style swords that are period appropriate; gladius with the romans, claymores or dirks with the knights, and a sabre for the pirate.

Wow, your Gator Golf is already broken? We've had ours since last year without a problem. I wonder if it is defective?

What's worse than cheap plastic toys? Expensive plastic toys! They still break, have little pieces that come off and kids can't put back on, and you feel guilty just giving them away. $150 in Bruder trucks and every one of them has something not working. I hope this is not the beginning of my MIL not respecting our family rules.

Racoons ate my stomp rockets and a nerf soccer ball, but it was my fault for not bringing them in the house.

DS's action figure has already lost his arm!

LOL! Great thread.

, well dd got this HUGE plastic set of doll accessories. 30 pieces including strollor, playpen, swing, highchair, etc.. It's pink, plastic, and everywhere.. the stroller and swing are both broke since dd thought it would be cool to sit in them herself so 2 down knock off magnet dart board, that is really NOT magnetic, just has darts with stucky stuff on the ends got sat on Darn it, I think I accidently threw away that slutty outfit for barbie, oops not really oops..

She hasn't even had time to miss or think about what is broken because this house is still FULL!!!

Wow, I'm surprised. DS's Bruder trucks are working great, although he's only had them for 2 days now. I was just telling DH I was impressed with how sturdy they are. I'd call the company and see what they say.

Nothing broken here yet, but DH has already started stepping on Legos.

Wow people have broken toys already??? That's rediculous....it's only boxing day. Are kids being unusually hard on them? I'd say the majority of Tyr's toys are plastic and I think we still have about 98% of all his toys since birth ( all in great shape)

The core of the trucks are fine it's the little pieces that come off of them like the fire hose, the side mirrors, the random curved pipe that goes somewhere on the cement mixer...We have a smaller tractor that lasted a month before things started breaking off. These are just too complicated for their own good.

My son is like that too. He keeps track of his toys, doesn't leave a jacket or bottled water behind at anyone's house. He just started at almost 6 smashing cars into each other on the rare occasion. I can count on one hand the number of toys that have Bent broken over the years. I now have a 2.4 year old DD and she's a bull in a China shop. I now get it when people have broken toys, I never understood before how a little kid could be soo rough with things.

Well, the musical plastic jewelry box no longer plays music now (and can really snap into your fingers if you try it). And this isn't really from over-playing.

many crayons are already broken and several barbies are nude and one is already headless.

LOL @ the barbie head. I think this year, if my dd actually plays with her barbie.. it's somewhere in this clutter.. I'm going to teach her to use scissors. Barbies are a good way to teach fine motor I dont' know why, but I just can't stand the chic

Well, my 5 year old got a cheap air hockey game that one of the paddles broke off. (gotta remember to take the batteries out before tossing it)

Also, his 2 Transformer toys (from his birthday 2 weeks ago) are apart. Sure, the package said 5 and up, but even I couldn't figure em out...grrr...

Sounds fixable to me. Take a few close ups of the break from a couple of angles and I'll see if I can figure out direction for you.

Most of these kinds of things can be easily repaired with a little fidgeting, some tape, a bit of glue, or a paper clip. It's worth giving it a try before adding to the landfill.
