UP - AP what's the diff?

Anyone have a quick answer? What is the difference?

What is "up"? "unattached parenting"? Does that refer to crying it out, not holding your baby much, spanking, and bottle propping?

UP I believe is referring to "Unassisted pregnancy"
AP refers to "Attached Parenting"

Someone correct me if I'm off...

UP is Unconditional Parenting
AP is attached Parenting

As for the difference, I'm still learning.

i would say that UP is an off-shoot of AP. i would think that all UPers are AP since the main thing that alfie kohn (author of UP) tries to get across is to respect your child as a person and consider their feelings. Unconditional parenting is a fantastic read, and his DVD of the same name is great too. he's a very charismatic speaker. dh and i watched it, it's like a two hour lecture and we were both sort of like, ok, let's watch a two hour parenting lecture, but we were both totally engrossed the entire time. we then read the book and try very hard to live up to it. if you have more questions, check out his websites:
