How old for hip position in a ring sling?

My ds is almost 5 months, just wondering at what age/stage he can sit on my hip in this thing. He's not too crazy about other positions these days.

From now! lol...I was always comfortable from about 3 months onwards with most babies I hold - including my own obviously hehe. You know, they are pretty sturdy in the upper department by then - the RS supports the rest.

I have pictures of ds at 5 months in the ring sling on dh's hip.

My litmus is when I can carry them on my hip with an arm. If I'm comfortable with that, I'm comfortable wearing them on my hip (which frankly is my favorite position to wear my kids in).

Same here. My LO is 4.5 mo now and he does pretty well on my hip, occasionally I still find I support him with my arm behind his back anyway.
