How to clean a birth pool

Thread Starter
I am just dying to try mine out, and while it's there I figure I may as well use it! However, when I am done and it needs to be clean, how clean should it be and what is the best method for cleaning it, since it's not like I can rinse it out in the bath tub.....I was thinking my handy dandy water and vinegar and a good air dry?

My mw said to get a bottle of hydrogen peroxide for the birth so that way if I was in and out of the tub the peroxide could be added to the water for sanitation. I would image once you are done "testing" out your pool if you want to sanitize it you could pour some peroxide in/wipe it down with a peroxide washcloth or vinegar and let it air dry.

That should work. I think that's what I did with my practice runs during my first birth. This time I got a few liners to use so we could have extremely simple clean up.
