I have longish think hair and I am growing it longer. I currently use Freeman Sea Kelp shampoo (from Big Lots at $2) and Giovanni 50/50 conditioner and I am happy with it. The Giovanni works pretty good considering it's more natural than most.
I also looooooove Aveda. I currently can't afford their shampoos/conditioners but I always use Aveda Beautifying Composition oil (on body and face) (I like their calming composition too). It smoothes my ends and smells great.
For a leave-in I really am happy with Giovanni's Direct Leave in Conditioner. Smells a little weird but the smell doesn't last. It really helps with detangling dd's hair.
Oh for a close (real close) match up of Aveda's scents for shampoo and conditioner go to Sally's Beauty Supply and buy some Aura Pure shampoo/conditioner (it smellls really close to Shampure) or the Rosemary/mint that smells like Aveda rosemary/mint. At a fraction of the cost of Aveda. It works decent for shorter hair I think, but the conditioner is not enough for my length (though I'm thinking now, maybe with the Giovanni Direct Leave in, it might work!).

(note, I use this alone....it cleans and conditions).
