Is there such a thing?

I'm looking for a kitchen appliance that is:
- a griddle (for pancakes, etc.)
- a waffle iron
- a panini press
- a grill

The closest I've come is the Cuisinart Griddler, but it doesn't have a waffle plate: http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-mult.../dp/B000I3Z6L2

Anyone?

I've been looking for the exact same thing and no luck. I also only found what you linked to. I don't know if they even make a griddle/waffle iron anymore, but I remember my mom having one, it folded up for storage, and for waffles, then opened flat with different plates for a griddle.

If you find it, let me know.

I got this for Christmas:

http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-G...pr_product_top

I think it only has a griddle, waffle iron and grill.

OK, I just checked. You can open it up and lay it flat for two griddle services, or you can close it and use it like a panini press. There is no real "grill" though, like a grill pan with ridges.

I haven't used it yet.

Tifpaul, PLEASE post an update when you do use it! I'd love to see a review. Now that we have an outdoor grill, an indoor one may not be quite so important.

I do have a cast iron stovetop grill/griddle that I've been using, but it's heavy and big to store and hard to clean, so I'm hoping to replace it altogether.

I have that one. I bought it Fred Meyers for DP a couple of years ago. I haven't actually used it as a griddle, either, mainly I make waffles with it.

Either way my complaint is that the plates "clip" in poorly. They are made to be removal so you can use the griddle side OR the waffle side, but when you put the plates in, you have to really line up the one side that fits into a lip kind of thing and then push the other side of the plate into the clip.

More than once I apparently didn't line it up correctly and then when I went to remove my waffles the top plate fell off. I haven't smashed my finger with a super hot plate yet, but I think it is only a matter of time.

Dp frankly prefers to make pancakes in a cast iron frying pan. Trust me, this takes skill. But they are GORGEOUS and YUMMY. Is it ok to love a man for his pancake prowess?

I'm about to head to bed, so am not going to search, but I believe Foreman has, or used to have, something like this.

I think the george foreman 360 has all those or the george forman with the 5 removable plates. I had one with 3 removable plates and it didn't get hot enough for my taste so I returned it, but a different version may work well for you.

I was SO ticked off when my mom tossed our old waffle iron. You could take the plates out and flip them over to use as a griddle.
OR you could do as DH and I do now, and just pop the sandwich in the waffle iron. Voila! Waffle shaped panini's or grilled cheese

Now if I could find one that is a Grill/Waffle iron/Griddle and wasn't teflon or non-stick i.e. cast iron.....

So I have used the waffle iron portion of the Black and Decker waffle/griddle/panini maker.

The waffles turned out pretty well. They are regular waffles, not Belgian. There was a bit of un-evenness in the cooking - it was lighter in one area, but not enough to affect the outcome. They did not stick at all.

I have a couple of comments. I think the way that the plates click in and out is a little tinny. I am not surprised at all at Pinoikoi's experience. Also, because of it's dual function, the hinge is a little funky. It can sit at a right angle - open for pouring in waffle batter. And it can sit flat open for use as a double griddle. So both the hinge and the plate clicker seem like possible trouble spots to me.

Also the size of the griddle area seems small to me. It might be difficult to fit four small pancakes on each side.

I just looked at the Foreman 360 -- no waffle iron...

I'm thinking that maybe I should wait til the idea sinks in more with the manufacturers... I'm going to try using my waffle iron as a pannini press (thanks for that idea, Tizzy!) and refinish/reseason my stovetop grill. I was hoping to get rid of the grill b/c it's a HUGE (two burner) cast iron monstrosity and the grill side is rusty and gross. But the griddle side is so perfectly seasoned and works so well.... And if I can't get something that's an all-in-one and still have to have two or more appliances for all these things, I'll just keep what I have til the preseasoned, cast iron pannini/griddle/grill/waffle iron comes out!
