I'm just searching for information here. We have a typical dishwasher, the interior is made entirely of white plastic and all the metal racks that the dishes sit on are covered in PVC. And we put our dishes in there & heat them over & over & over..... common sense tells me that this just cannot possibly be OK. But how come I cannot find ONE bit of information online about it? Not one study, or article.
In all honesty, I'm battling with my common sense. I don't want to wash dishes by hand. So I want to find some study, some official something that proves that dishwashers are just all around toxic & putting our dishes in them is a terrible idea, OR, that they're not a big deal.
Sigh.
Fwiw, the dishwasher is over 10 yrs old, so I wonder if it's long since "off gassed" & the toxins are gone?? And we do only use 7th generation detergent so I'm not worried about that aspect. I just wish I could find the slightest bit of info!
So, if any of you have come across any info related to any of this, or want to share your thoughts on the matter, I'd love to hear!
