Peer Support for Postpartum Depression

I am a family physician who is interested in finding help for women with postpartum depression, and I am recruiting mothers for our “Peer Support for Postpartum Depression” study.

If you are a mother with a 0-6 month old infant, and have these characteristics, you may qualify for our study:
  • Feeling down, depressed, or hopeless, or having little interest or pleasure in doing things you normally enjoy for 2 or more weeks
  • Possibly other related symptoms such as poor sleep or appetite, fatigue, or anxiety
  • Age 16 or older
  • English literate
  • Resident of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) Metro area
  • Willing or possibly willing to participate in a University of Minnesota study that tests the benefit of peer support for postpartum depressive symptoms.
Please call 612-624-3129, leave a message with your name and phone number, and we will call you to see if you qualify for this University of Minnesota/HealthEast-sponsored study. Thanks!

Sounds like a great study! If I were in the area, I would be interested. Have you cross posted in the tribal forum for Minnesota?

PPD study

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did cross post in the Minnesota-Wisconsin tribal forum. We hope mothers in the Twin Cities area will look at this and take advantage of this opportunity.
