Nikki still anoys me, but I think that is why Chloe is so good at her character. You can never tell if shes lying or telling the truth, cuz with Nikki it all sounds the same.

I recently saw an episode of some documentary show (Secret Lives of Women, I think), where it was made clear that allegations of incest are decidedly an issue, especially in some of the smaller polygamist sects.

I think the theme of the new opening ties into Barb's fears when she was kicked out of the LDS church, and the whole way they're all kind of at odds and drifting without direction. The old opening showed them all together dining in the Celestial Kingdom in an idealized happily ever after. The new one shows them all floating around in the Outer Darkness, desperately trying to reach out for each other.

I think it's incest, just as someone else posted to suggest. Which casts some very creepy tones over his relationship with Nikki's daughter.

I think JJ is making her sick. I don't think she has cancer so much as she has super creepy murderous husband.

JJ's lack of fingernails: Maybe because he is administering the chemo and doesn't know what he is doing (obviously)? Sounds like he is managing all of her care. On the latest episode he told her he wants to replace her PICC and do a biopsy .

The Margene and Ben thing, I can totally see that, after all, he does seem to be the 'man' in her life when she needs someone to help/protect/support.

I do get sick of the business end, in a way. However, I think it just makes it all more 'real'.

Wow, that whole Margie/Ben thing better get resolved and not by sending Margie off the show so that she can have a big movie career instead... she is one of my faves!!!

Sissy Spacek is an awesome actress, I agree, I want more of her.

Alby creeps me out... I don't want more of him at all. However, JJ makes an awesome creepy guy. I am okay with him sticking around.

I really hope Nikki and her daughter come to some resolution and stay on the show. I like her daughter so far.

The Barb-Casino thing is bugging me, as well as the Bill-campaign thing, but I am the one who hates the business side of the show, so that is probably why.

Okay, here's some other random thoughts:

-Did anyone catch the long shots of the kids watching the movie with the men in black-face? What are your theories on why they were watching that? I think it's no accident that it was shown after the welfare cheat scenario scene. I think it is part social commentary and partly to show how totally clueless and out of touch the family really is.

-I think that JJ is about to become integral. I think that he is going to be the driving force in the next few episodes. I think the fingernails have many possibilities, one being that he has been brutally tortured (possibly Wanda too? Maybe she's a psychopath because of that?) OR some kind of incestuous breakaway sect involvement (possibility that he and Wanda have a child?) OR he is getting sick secondarily from the chemo.

Oh, and I 100% got the feeling that there was some sort of Munchaussen-by-proxy thing going on with him and the sick wife.

-I feel like the whole season is being set up to draw parallels between the Henrickson's and the Juniper Creek people. I think that the Bill-as-prophet storyline will be really important. I think that the writers are trying to get us to see how truly enmeshed in all the crazy compound stuff the family really is.

Of course these are just the workings of my sleep-deprived brain so I could be super off. Any thoughts?

I am completely ignorant to chemo, and know nothing about it. HOWEVER, it did JUST occure to me that during that scnene, where margene is noticing his fingernails, Nikki makes a comment about hoping caroline wont end up like her father, getting sick at every little thing (Coleslaw) and he is eating only white rice during the entire scene.

Oh, and I 100% got the feeling that there was some sort of Munchaussen-by-proxy thing going on with him and the sick wife. I heard the reference to chaging out something and something about a biopsy, but my brain didnt register it all. What was he talking about changing out?

Did anyone notice that when Joey broke into Romans casket, for a brief second when they show it opening, it comes DOWN on his face. Wonder how badly that disfigured him? Broken nose perhaps? Sometimes I look for things where there really is nothing.

Yeah, like no way. He said he was changing her IV, PICC and doing a biopsy. While IV and PICC doesn't require surgery or anything, it has to be sterile, and you have to at least be a nurse to do it. I'm not sure what kinda biopsy he was talking about, but a lot of those are surgeries and requires general.

Does anyone else find it weird that all last season, Bill was obsessed with opening the casino. It opens and he's not been there once and just leaves the entire thing up to Barb who has no idea what the heck she's doing? He never asks about it, never checks in with it - nothing. It was all they talked about last season.

Yeah! What the heck was up with JJ doing all her medical procedures? And what the heck is up with bizzare wig she wears?

I just gotta say, I love Nikki She is always so fun to watch.

Creepy thought...when JJ was yelling at Bill something like how would he feel if someone kidnapped his child and then the weird/limited Teeny line...I got a bad feeling--is something going to happen to Teeny?

Something I was wondering - how the heck does Bill expect to keep his polygamy a secret when he takes a woman he's not legally married to to Washington freaking DC? I mean, Barb is clearly going to have to be the public wife during the campaign, right? I know he won't be campaigning in DC, but he shouldn't be taking that sort of chance. And then with Nikki having the incident with the gun and him claiming her as his wife - well, I'm sure there's a record of that somewhere. It's just stupid.

I completely agree. When she said they were going to see the white house and then put that gun in her purse--I was thinking that was going to go a whole lot more badly than it did!

Two JJ related thoughts: one, I think the pp that said that maybe JJ is the sick one and they are pretending that it is the wife might be on to something. Two, maybe JJ was the first of Wanda's poisoning victims? That could be why he can't eat and why he is sickly.

JJ's mean enough that I can't imagine Wanda would have disappeared at some point if she'd hurt JJ. I kind of think he's been hurting her but makes it her fault and something she's ashamed of.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that Bill really enjoys the chase. Once he gets what he's chasing, he'd liable to look for something else to chase.
