This is the website I found:

www.amberartisans.com

But DH told me to ask my mothering forum for other websites to compare prices and quality before we buy one.

I got my necklace used from a mama on diaperswappers, but there are a couple good places to get them new. I really like these by Baltic creations and these by Inspired By Finn.

I for one am pretty sure these things are magic, the very first night I put it on him, he STTN for the first time! I wrap it around his ankle at night for peace of mind from choking concerns.

I love my DD's amber teething necklace. She is cutting her second set of molars and has all of her other baby teeth. So she has been wearing it for over a year now. And she has had an easy time with teething. The necklace and Hylands teething tablets has been our treatment. She wears her necklace 24/7 on her neck. It's never been an issue for us. I understand why it is worrisome though. But wrapping it around the ankle is good too. It just needs to be in contact with the LO's skin and body heat for it to work is my understanding.

I got DD's from Inspired by Finn. It is important when buying one for a small child to find one that has each bead individually tied. There is a knot between each little bead so that if it was to break only one or two little beads would come loose, not the whole strand. So it is less of a choking hazard that way.

We also love Inspired by Finn! I ordered gifts from there for Christmas - including for me! We've got 2 teething necklaces plus, now, an assortment of adult pieces. Super fast shipping, great prices, and great folks to work with.

Thank you for the tip! I never would have thought of each bead having to be individually tied.

I got my necklace here: http://www.alwaysinfashion.com/amber_teething_necklaces. They have great prices and proven certifications for the baltic amber. They knot between each bead and you can choose how long you want the necklace to be. I highly suggest them.

We got this one from Nova and love it. The beads are knotted in between, and the clasp is a screw in but if tugged on with some force, naturally opens, to prevent injury.

I've been VERY pleased with the necklace, and actually ordered the toddler sized one for myself (I have a small neck).

It's best to remove the necklace during bath time (since it's strung on cotton I believe), and it's best to not get soap on the beads either, as it can make them less smooth I think. And as PP pointed out, you can also loop it around the baby's ankle twice if you're worried about baby wearing it in her sleep.

Has anyone gotten an amber necklace for themselves? I'm wondering if they'd help me my neck and upper back pain, plus I'm prone to migraines.

Yes, I did (see previous post). I haven't had it long enough yet to see if it helps with pain yet (got it for Christmas).

I also have one for myself with the goal of helping the major back/neck pain I have. I started wearing it just before Christmas so don't know for sure yet if it will help, but it's pretty.
