I went to the doctor for a full work up with blood tests. I am pre diabetic. I do not want to be diabetic. I hope this is my wake up call. A friend gave me their blood sugar monitor and I have been testing after eating to see what meals make it spike and what doesn't. No surprise that when I eat a lot of carbs, it goes way up. So I am starting there with eliminating the white flours from my diet. I just wanted to update everyone.

Bravo for you in taking that step! I know there are a lot of threads in health & healing for primal or paleo or grain-free eating.
I have never felt better than when eating a limited amount of carbs - like for 1 meal (and a small portion). Fats & protiens along with veggies are what keep my body in a happy place.
How are you doing with everything? I hope that your chickens are keeping you busy and life is treating you will love and joy!
