52 Project Challenge? - Page 6

Oh cool! I want to join. I want to change the rules for me. I want to create and complete one new craft every week for expanding my business and for expanding my skills.

Right now I'm working on a wooden puzzle, last week I created a hat.

Getting things checked off! I re-covered my mom's old sewing box, made a pair of earrings I've had waiting in limbo FOREVER, took apart and re-did a beaded necklace into one I now LOVE, and have almost completed designing necklaces and earrings for my bellydance troupe! So 3 more down, with 2 more projects that I'll finish by tomorrow. Hooray!
48/52 for me!

Am I the only person at 1 down, not enough hours in the day? I know I have a newborn, I knew I was going to be doing most of my crafting later in the year, but ... but.... WAHHHHH!

OK, I feel better now.

I finished 2 knitting needle rolls- they are awesome! One for me and one for a gift. Holds my interchangables and all my dpns with tons of room for adding to my set! Still want to try out my other idea though....

43/52!

Helen- 5 kids one of which is brand new- congratulations and spend your time snuggling rather than crafting!

The stars aligned and both kids took a nap at the same time, so I got the troupe necklace and two earring options done today! 45/52!

Welcome, Sweetpeppers!

Helen, I agree - crafting is hard to do with a newborn. I feel like I go into hibernation mode 'til my babes are about 9 months old. So completing one project is GREAT!

I haven't completed my section of scrapbook pages (mid-1985 - mid-1989), but I have been diligently working on pages. I had to do some sleuthing in order to complete the pages I did today. I couldn't remember the name of the town where my friend and I spent a weekend at the Jersey Shore, but I had a picture with a restaurant name and street name in the background. Google and street view are my new best friends!!!!

Peppermint Poppies - These two pages (double-page spread) took me longer than six hours! They are pretty detailed and I spent a lot of time looking up information....

I have 42 pages completed now. My estimate of 5-7 pages left for this section is so off! I have completed 8 pages since then and I still have 9 pictures and 3 large pieces of memorabilia left for this timeframe. Whew....

I think I need this challenge. I have a studio filled to the brim w/ craft stuff and no motivation to get anything done. Maybe now I'll be motivated. I'll even try and get stuff done for the weeks I've missed.

On my To Do list (each one will count as 1 project unless otherwise noted):

-Fornicating Deer hat for BIL (this is going to count as 2 b/c of the time required w/ stranded knitting)
-4prs lounge pants for DS1
-4prs lounge pants for DD1
-4prs lounge pants for DS2
-knitted rag rug for bathroom
-wool felt birthday crown for DS1
-wool felt birthday crown for DD1
-wool felt birthday crown for DS2
-wool felt birthday crown for DD2
-6 VB fitteds for DD2 (these are currently cut out- they need elastic, serging, and snaps)
-quilt for DH
-felted basket
-felted basket

Pictures please I'd love to try making something like this. I've got a zippered case for my interchangeables, but my DPN's and some circulars are just floating loose in my knitting basket at the moment.

LOL, here's an example of it. I knit my BIL's hat in a natural background w/ a burgundy design, but I think my stranding was too tight b/c it's too small. I'm knitting him a new one that will hopefully fit. He's 16, into snowmobiling and snowboarding, and this is right up his alley.

I'm at 49/52! Yay! Just blogged about projects at http://www.ambistitcherous.com/

well- yesterday my electricity was spotty at best- so no bookwork for me cause I didn't want to fry my computer- so I scrapbooked all afternoon. I got quite a bit done on DS2's baby book- which was fun since it was his first bday! I also realized how many pictures I took of DD and how few there are of DS2. Well- too late to change the past- but need to work on that a little more now.

I am going to call 12 pages 2 projects.

I did another set of scrapbook pages today- so another bites the dust.

Also- here are a few pics. This is my new goodwill coat that I redid. I wear it with a balck and cream plaid scarf- which looks better than this sweater...

Also... I earned 2 demerits. I bought clearance felting wool to make DH a pair of slippers and a skien of brown cotton for a baby hat for a baby shower next month. Darn.

So.... 42/52

On my immediate list...
finish a double flannel recieving blanket for a different baby shower, DDs doll outfit, still working on my feb lady sweater- have the body almost done, and scrapbooking.

End of Week 4 (HOW did that happen?!) -- my tally is 45/52. I finished a pair of flannel pjs today - train print with red fabric and polka dots for cuffs on legs, sleeves, and collar trim. This took longer, but is the result of running to the bathroom with wee one who was potty training and needed to GO, while dh told the clerk what I needed for fabric (and as a result, I had 1 yard less fabric than I had wanted, ooops). They turned out pretty well, they look quite couture.

Hope everyone else is happy with their productivity this week! We are coming down with colds here, I'm not sure how productive this coming week will be ....

ETA: Jenn/FillingMyQuiver - that hat is awesome. Dh loves it! Unfortunately I don't think I know anyone who knits well enough for me to hit them up to knit one for him.

My DD is ill and is not sleeping well at night, so neither am I.

Meanwhile, I have completed the segment of scrapbook pages I set out to complete this month. I have changed my mind about giving myself credit for only one project, though.

I finished the details on 9 pages previously started.
I created 16 pages from raw materials.
This segment (mid1985 - mid1989) is now 47 pages, which corrals 85 pictures and 39 pieces of memorabilia and 41 stories/memories in one place.
(These items were in several different places before and certainly took up a lot more room and were far less visually appealing.)

I am giving myself credit for 3 projects for completing this segment. No real rhyme or reason for 3 specifically, but 4 seems too many and 2 seems too few.
