Sheet/blanket situation

We have been co-sleeping with our beautiful DS since birth, and he normally sleeps between us. We don't have a thick quilt, just a sheet and a thin flannel blanket, but I ALWAYS end up cold because DH pulls all the covers to his side, and for me to even cover half my body, the blankets would have to go over DS's head which is obviously not ok.

What do the rest of you do? I was thinking about just going to the store and buying 2 twin sized flat sheets and 2 blankets, and giving one to DH and keeping one for myself (and to put over DS's legs if it is especially chilly). Does anyone do this, and if so does it work?

That's not what we did years ago when my boys were little, but I would totally do that now. Why not, it makes perfect sense.

we all have our own blankies! i got tired of frozen feet because dd3 kicks the covers off her feet and bunches them up around her chest.

We do this and it works great!

we have separate blankets/sheets too, but we did before ds was born because dh is a covers thief

Sounds like a good solution to me. We co-sleep also with our DS between us, and I was wondering about the same thing.

We stretch the blanket over DS but I sleep with my head level to his body so it's really only over the lower half of his body. It usually works great (has for 10+ months now) but this morning I woke up at 5am to see the covers PULLED OVER HIS HEAD!!! I freaked out & frantically pulled them off and now I'm wondering if we need to go a different route. Our blanket is thin & breathable but it's still scary to me.

I wear a thick robe to bed and pull my own sheet on my feet. DH uses his own sheet. DS wears thick footed pajamas.

Huz has his own blanket, DD (10 mos) and I share one. We don't use a top sheet because that's just more to get twisted around all of the legs. DD wears thin footed pjs; I wear sleepy pants and a long sports bra. She and I sleep on a lap-pad type thing to absorb any stray juices.

DH and I each have our own quilt, and DD sleeps between us with no blanket. She's almost 2 so I don't worry about the quilts.

Exactly what we do. Two twin sheets and two twin blankets on a king size bed. It works great. My two are 18 months now so we have pulled out the king size comforter to use once in a while but usually we're warm enough with the blankets.

I think two sets of sheets is a good idea. I wore a warm top and only had my blanket and sheet come up to my waist.

we're about to get separate blankets. dh is not only a covers hog, but he sleeps with the blanket up to his ears!
