Which issue do you think I have?

Today when I changed my baby's (pee) diaper (a cotton fitted), I noticed it stunk. Not like amonia. Just kind of like stinky diaper.

Would you say it is detergent build up? I use my own homemade detergent, made from castille soap, borax, and washing soda, with a little bit of oxyclean. I use two tablespoons of detergent per load. I do a cold rinse, followed by a hot wash and a cold rinse. Normally, when I pull my diapers out of the wash, they smell clean, like nothing at all.

Or would you say maybe I need to use more detergent to get the diapers cleaner? Do another rinse?

Bacteria buildup. Add 1 tablespoon of bleach to your next hot wash.

Umm... no opinion yet but my prefolds have the same issue. I'm hoping it isn't option 3.

I would try switching detergents and stusing a bit more before resorting to stripping.

bleach followed by lots of water. Sunshine if you have it.
