Coconut milk for 8mo old?

He started solids about a month ago and loves coconut oil which I give him about a tsp of each day. What is the info and thought on coconut milk? We don't have any food allergies in our family (but do have asthma and pet allergies). He's been having the CO for a few weeks now. He doesn't each much else but I give him sweet potato to play with and he sometimes eats. He has the interest and physical development but is working on the texture/taste thing.

OH sure give him a little taste I would. DD had it at 11 months in a smoothie. I would just make sure it's native forest(cans are BPA free). Such a good source of fat. I also like to mash avocado with banana for DD to get more good fat

I've actually known of sensitive/allergy kids (including mine) who do fine with coconut milk. As the pp wrote, watch out for any added ingredients or preservatives. Of course, keep in mind that any individual can be sensitive to any food.

If you haven't read this article already, it gives a **guideline** on how to introduce traditional foods to your baby.
Two of the recipes (baby custard & coconut fish pate- for 6 & 8 mo. olds) include coconut milk in the ingredients. I'm sure you already know to go slowly and introduce single foods at a time to watch for any reactions.
