I saw a good Jewish friend tonight and he offered me some words of comfort in Hebrew. I really liked them and would like to remember them, and maybe learn how to say it myself. I would ask him, but it will be a few days before I see him again and I'm afraid by that time he may have forgotten exactly what he said.
All I know for sure is that it sounded like it ended in Tov. and I think it meant something like "This too is for the good" or "This too shall pass" I can't quite remember. I tried looking it up online and came across gam zu l’tovah (there were various different spellings) which might be it. Can l'tovah sound like Tov? Can someone tell me how to pronounce the phrase correctly? I'm very secular, I know nothing of Hebrew pronunciations. Also, are there anyother phrases that you think it might have been? I was pretty upset when he said it and don't remember much, besides that i did find it comforting. So, anything that ends in a sound something like Tov that you might offer as comfort to another person I'd be interested to hear.
Thanks, it would mean a lot to me to be able to remember it.
