DS is 27 months and has always been incredibly reluctant about using the potty, even though he's been EC'd from birth. There are just so many other interesting things to do!
For Christmas, he got lots and lots of underwear. No trainers, no padding, just plain old 1 layer cotton underwear. Some with characters (he specifically requested Elmo) and some cute handmade undies I ordered online.
Christmas day, I put an absorbent pad in his new undies and he peed and pooed in them. So he wore trainers the rest of the day, and used them instead of the potty. (I think we had maybe one catch.)
The next day I decided to try no absorbency and see what happens. Past attempts have been disasters, but this time, it worked! We even went out shopping for several hours and he stayed clean and dry while we were out!
Today is day 4, and he had one pee "miss" yesterday while he was home with DH (not sure what happened but apparently he pulled down his pants and peed on the floor so he stayed dry.
)
I set up his little squatty potty in the living room, and he pulls down his own pants, sits, does his biz, pulls his pants back up and carries on with playing. I think he finally realized that this is much easier than having to be changed every time he had a miss.
I think I have a grad! He's SO excited and proud, and so am I!
