Thank you, I'll keep that in mind, although I didn't see that I had said anything except that they are protecting, which makes sense.  And the other info was very non specific, but something that might help her once she starts rating, and prevent her from going through what I did.  All meant to help and greet.  I felt pretty alone myself starting out!

I get ya, I felt the same way starting out too. I would just hate to see anyone loose their job!

I am also a new member of the site. I found it researching reviews for lionbridge. I am waiting for test materials this Saturday myself. I am a stay at home mother as of right now (although my kids are 25 and 15) and a full time student. I have been in the banking field for over a decade but due to the economy the processing site I worked for lost a big account and they only kept a hand full of people and the rest got a servance package.

I passed the first part of the assessment yesterday (YEA!) and just completed the second part. I heard back immediately that I passed the first part... do I have to wait the full 5 days until after my assessment "due date" to find out if I passed the second part? Anyone who has taken it- did you find out any sooner?

Thanks for all great info.

Originally they stated my region was filled up ( am in Korea) but two days ago received an email that new availability had opened up.

I wonder how they work if I have an international bank account?

INput is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I just signed up here because I wanted to comment on this post :)

I applied for Lionbridge yesterday.  I am hoping to hear back from them but not sure if I am eligible because I currently work for Leapforce at home.

I also wanted to share some info about leapforce.  If you don't/cant get in at Lionbridge, Leapforce is the same type of company, same work, and you can work unlimited hours.  The only thing is that they pay $13.50 an hour ($1 an hour less) and you work as an independent contractor, so they don't take your taxes out, you have to pay taxes at the end of the year.  Also, they only pay once a month and it takes up to two months to get your first check, so if you are really hurting for money this may not be the right way to go (which is why I applied with Lionbridge as well.)

Just thought I would put some more info out there, it is so hard to find good legitimate WAH jobs, and at least with Leapforce you can make your own schedule, you are not obligated to work any number of hours, and you can work any time of the day any day of the week.  Hope this info helps someone out there, it helped me a lot.  Still hoping to get in at LB too though, it would be nice to be able to do both, and the extra money would be great!

I also work for leapforce, I love having the flexible schedule, but find it hard to stay focused doing this type of work for long.

How do you guys keep yourself motivated/focused to work more hours? How many hours each week do you usually work?

I started working for Lionbridge about 3 weeks ago and I would also like to know how you all stay focused on the tasks. I have two daughters, a 5 year old and a 4 month old. My 5 year old is in pre-k most of the day, but I'm home with my baby. By the end of the night I am so pooped that I can hardly focus on doing tasks. I'm not even doing the minimum 10 hours yet...I hope I don't get fired! I really could use the money, but its really hard for me to set aside time to do the work. On top of this, I'm starting summer graduate classes online next week and my 5 year old will be getting out of school for the summer soon so she will be home with me too for the most part. I need some advice!

Hello,

I applied to LionBridge yesterday and am hoping to hear back soon. I applied to LeapForce on Monday, passed the first quiz and just got the second one today. I've spent six hours working on it in between spending time with my kids. I sure hope I pass it and get to start working soon. Any tips for the practical test?

Thanks

Just wanted to let you know, I applied Saturday and apparently LIONBRIDGE REDUCED PAY TO $13.50 an hour.... So now Leapforce is looking better and better since there's no minimum or maximum number of hours needed. Anyone else apply recently and see the $13.50 or is it just me?

Yay! I just heard back from LeapForce and passed the second test! I did it all in one day so I assumed I missed a few but I guess not. I can't  wait to start working and saving up for my magic bus:)

I am new to this site, but this topic caught my attention, obviously. I recently passed both parts of the exam for LionBridge and after I finish watching the video tutorials, I'll be ready to start rating. Now, I see some of you also mentioning LeapForce. Can you work both at the same time? I noticed during the application process with LB it stated that if you'd already worked for LF you would not be eligible.

Nope, you can only work for one.

I'm confused about the pay. If I do the 200 tasks in the first month will I get paid even if I fall bellow 25 or 30 TPH? Will I just get fired or will I not get paid?

I've been working so hard studying and learning the skills needed but I'm still really slow I just hope all the effort isn't for nothing! I've spend about 8 hours into this but only logged on for half of them

I would like to hear more about this too. I was trying to research it online and came across a lot of comments about how it's scam-ish and people are not getting paid and the guy who runs it is getting in trouble. If it really is good and works then I would love to try it out though. Has anyone been working with them for more than a few months?

I've been working with them since November. Never had a problem getting paid. If you don't make minimum hours, you just don't get early pay (you have to wait a few more weeks), but you'll still get paid!! There are people on the Work Place Like Home forums that have been with them for more than 2 years (there was just a thread about that recently.)

I've been working with them for just about a year.  It's not a scam at all.  I've been paid regularly with no problems, and got a pay increase partway through the year.  The people who are complaining about the company generally seem to be people who had a hard time meeting the productivity and quality expectations and feel it was unfair that they were let go when they were trying to do a good job.  You may or may not like the work and be good at it, but you don't need to worry that it's not a legitimate job opportunity.
