Xmas ham and listeria

I know a lot of you ignore the rule of not eating the deli-style ham. What about the Xmas kind of ham? We ate ham on Christmas (the one it's already precooked, but you heat it in the oven, for 1 hour and 40 mins). Now I am worried that it could be contminated with listeria.
any insight?
Thank you!

If it's been heated it's fine.

Seriously I've been eating cold cuts all my life and I've never once had listeria (I'm 29). I eat soft-boiled eggs too. I really wouldn't worry about xmas ham.

I would be much more concerned about the nitrates in the ham/lunchmeats than anything else. They are still in there regardless of eating hot or cold. And very bad for you/baby.

I stuck slices of the ham and turkey into the microwave until steaming. I've read that's fine for listeria and pregnancy.

Heating for over 70C for a minute (or more) will kill listeria so as long as it got hotter than that it should be fine.

We're still finishing off our Christmas ham (ours is nitrate free ) and I'm just making sure to heat it in a skillet or use it in a cooked dish. That is what I'd do with any leftover meat that has been around a few days - I am sure any listeria that was there (unlikely but possible) was killed off with the initial cooking.

So yummy!

I did heat up leftovers (actually 1 piece) on high in a microwave for about 40 secs. Do you think it's enough? It looked steaming to me. I am so tired of worrying about all this stuff! How did our mothers and grandmothers do without Internet and this modern research?

They just didn't worry about it and most of them went on to have healthy pregnancies--and the ones that didn't probably never knew the cause of their loss.

(At least, that's what my mom and MIL said--"They told us not to smoke, and maybe to cut back on the alcohol, and that was it.")

I still find it weird I have not yet once been asked if I always wear a seat belt. I'd imagine I'm at a bigger risk, as is my baby, from a car accident than I am from listeria. There are millions of car accident injuries a year, tens of thousands of deaths, and maybe a few thousand cases of listeriosis.

But, in modern society, no doctor would tell a pregnant woman she should stay away from cars. (How else are we going to get to a zillion prenatal appointments?)

I inadvertently had some soft goat cheese yesterday. (It appeared on a sandwich but was NOT listed in the menu description; I realized about halfway through that it wasn't supposed to be there. It may have been pasteurized, maybe not.) I am not worrying about it.
