Winter IVF - Page 17

ratgrl: Yay!

KellyTTC#1: I hope you're doing ok--at least after today you're done with injections . *thinking good thoughts for you*

New Mama: I'm praying for your little embryos.

5terre:

AFM: Retrieval was yesterday. We got 11 eggs, 4 of which were immature. Of the 7 that were mature, 4 were at "stage" 1 (almost there) and 3 were at "stage" 2 (just right). We had to do ICSI and all three of the "stage" 2 eggs fertilized normally. As of 8am this morning, none of the "stage" 1 eggs had fertilized, but the nurse said that one or more of them might catch up. We'll see. So, as of right now, I have three embryos and my transfer is set for Wednesday 3/10. My beta is set for Monday 3/22.

Your breakdown was just about the same as mine -- 11 eggs, 7 mature, 3 fertilized and made it to 8 cells in a few days. My transfer is the day before yours, tomorrow. Wouldn't it be fabulous if we could all be in the same due date club? Fingers crossed...

Ratgrl-yay for 22 eggies. Hope your feeling well and wishing you a wonderful fertilization report.

Laura & NewMama- Good Luck with your transfers, hoping they go nice and smooth.

5terre-Thinking of you.

Well I am officially back in the game. First BCP tonight and will be starting up in April sometime. Very glad to be starting again just so nervous since this will be our last try. Hoping for the old 3rd times a charm. Met with a therapist for the 1st time in my life and it was nice to talk to someone but felt so stange to sit down with a complete stranger. She did let me punch some big squishy block and that sure felt good. lol. Hope this message leaves you all well.

5terre I'm so sorry about your results and the change in your path. I hope that you're able to find some peace in the decisions you're making.

MomToA you're making me want to call the psychologist here. I'd like to punch something! I'm not a big fan of them either but this is sure overwhelming.

NewMama I hope your transfer goes swimmingly tomorrow and I hope your BFP is just around the corner. My transfer is Thursday, sounds like there's a clump of us this week.

laura-belle hope your three embies keep on growing and thriving, good luck with your transfer on Wednesday.

Kelly no mention of progesterone from my doc. He seemed pretty confident it was mucous, which was borne out by what I produced Saturday night (gross) and then today with the news that the fluid/mucous is gone. Hope your progesterone doesn't interrupt the flow of this cycle. Good luck!

AFM, I'm sore tonight but feeling hopeful and happy. Looking forward to the fertilization report tomorrow. Anxious for transfer. I just want it to go well.

5terre -

MomtoA - I hope your therapist can help you make some emotional sense of all this IF crap!

Laura & NewMama -sending sticky vibes your way!

Ratgrl - looking forward to hearing about your wonderful fert. report!

I'm just hanging out waiting for our appt. on the 17th. While I'm thrilled that our beta was so good after just 2 that we didn't have to have another one for 2 weeks, I guess it would be kind of nice to get the reassurance that things are still going well. So darn hard to get over that "waiting for the other shoe to fall" thing with IF!!

My 1st beta wasn't super high (90) so I didn't think much of it, but after reading on some beta boards, many have mentioned that it's more about doubling time than beta's when considering multiples....ours tripled (285) in less than 48 hours or doubled in under 28.5 hours, which is apparently very fast!!! I know the beta game means nothing until u/s, but it's hard not to think about the possibility of multiples!

Wow, that's fantastic! Good luck!

I just got back from my transfer. Only one of the embryos was normal, according to the genetic testing we had done, but the embryologist said that it was beautiful and perfect in every way that he could see. So now I wait and think sticky thoughts...

New Mama: fingers crossed for you!

ratgrl: congrats on the 18 fertilized eggs! good luck on the tranfer today!

laura-belle: I hope your transfer went well.

Paytonsmom: looking forward to the update on the 17th... hang in there...

momtoalexis: third time will be a charm.

My doctor told me the progesterone was a new thing they were monitoring and it looked fine as far as he was concerned... that really made me feel better.

I had my retrieval yesterday... 8 eggs retrieved and I was pleased with my report this morning... 7 were mature and all fertilized. We will get another update tomorrow on how they are doing!

Good luck! I just noticed your siggie...I had three failed IUI's and got pregnant with my first IVF!

So yesterday (about 24-hours after my blastocyst transfer) I had this pinching sensation in my lower abdomen that lasted a few hours. It's so hard not to think "implantation"...I don't know how I will be able to wait another week and a day.

How is everyone doing? Talk to me -- I'm going nuts waiting.

I actually just took a HPT, not because I thought it would be accurate, but because I've never actually tested the standard line the clinic gives that if you test early (before their blood test) there could be a false positive because of the trigger shot.

My trigger shot was last week Tuesday night, and there is only the faintest, FAINTEST of faint lines there...barely visible.

Did I mention that I'm going nuts waiting?

Transfer today went great. Of our 18 fertilized embies we transferred in two, both grade 2, 7 & 8 cells respectively. They did use assisted hatching.

We froze 8 today and the other 8 will either be frozen at blast or, if they aren't high enough quality, donated to one of the research studies they're working on.

That's terrific! Now you're in the dreaded wait with me...

Hi New Mama: Hang in there!! Do you know how long the trigger shot takes to get out of the system?

I hope my 7 eggs are growing... can't wait for the update tomorrow.

I hope your eggs are growing, too! Please keep us posted.

I have no idea how long the trigger shot takes to get out of the system, but now I'm going to have to Google it.

I'm seeing anywhere from 9 to 14 days, with 10 being given the most as an answer.

ratgrl & Newmama-Sending lots and lots of sticky thoughts your way.

Kelly-Hoping your embies are growing as we speak.

Got my schedule for this cycle. Protocol is way different than our other cycles which I'm hoping will do the trick. The nurse was not as kind to my old Re as the new Re was. She used to work for my old Re many years ago and said she left cause he was so arrogant. She kept asking me why he wouldn't change my protocol if the other cycle went so bad. I told her well thats exactly why I'm here cause I needed something changed. She was so kind and even gave me a big hug when I left and I felt like I knew her my whole life. I've never felt that way at the old Re's office. Hoping so bad that this last cycle is it for us.

It sounds hopeful! My fingers are crossed for you!

momtoalexis: I am so happy for you... seems like you've found the right RE & nurse.

new mama: hanging in there?

laura-belle: how are you doing?

How's everyone else hanging in there? Good vibes to all!

We got an update today that at the 48 hr check all of the embryos were growing. I guess they do the grading on day 3 so we'll find that out tomorrow. My transfer is scheduled for tomorrow.

Good luck Kelly!

I'm hanging in there. Going a little nuts, but hanging in there. We requested a copy of the genetic testing and we just got it in the mail today -- we found out the one embryo they transfered was a boy. Wow. It makes it seem so real...

Good Luck Kelly!!!!!!!

New Mama: finding out it's a boy must make it so real for you.

The transfer went today... we transferred two embryos that were 8 cell grade 4. The doctor said that is exactly what they are looking for. We froze 3 others that were grade 3, 1 was a four cell, 1 was 5 cell and the other was 6 cell. He said to come back for the beta in 14 days... so now we're in the waiting game.

I hope everyone is doing well.
