Ratgrl, I can't believe you went through that. Kelly is right about the range of emotions...holy cow. I hope you recover quickly. How sad, and scary, that must have been for you.

I'm so sorry ratgrl. What an AWFUL experience. I am, however, glad that they were able to get you into surgery before tragedy occurred. Not much consolation, I'm sure. Truly awful.

I had my egg retrieval yesterday and got the phone call with my fertilization report this morning. They retrieved 21 eggs yesterday. According to the nurse I spoke with this morning, only 12 of those were mature. Is that normal? I can't even remember what happened last time. Anyway, of those 12, 9 of them fertilized. We're doing the PGD Microarry CGH testing, so my transfer will be a day 5. I'm hoping that after that many days, and all of that testing that they have something left to transfer.

I had the same genetic testing done. Only three of my eggs fertilized and out of those, only one was genetically normal. But it implanted and I'm now over nine weeks pregnant.

Hi New Mama,
I hope you don't mind my asking, but what did the testing come up with for the other embryos? I'm so intrigued by this new technology but have NO idea what to expect! Feel free to send a private message if you'd rather. And I totally understand if you're not comfortable answering.

9 sounds like a good number after fertilization.

Keep growing embies and I hope the testing all works out--I'm not familiar with that part.

Thanks Kelly. They called yesterday with my transfer time for tomorrow, so things must still have been progressing ok at that point. Trying to stay positive! My transfer will be at 1pm and I'll do pre and post transfer acupuncture appointments as well. Fingers crossed!

The transfer went well. Having started with 9 embryos, we only had 2 that were able to be transferred. One of those came up "inconclusive" in the testing, but was of high quality and the other came up "normal" and was also good quality (though not as good as the "inconclusive" one). The others either did not continue to develop or tested abnormally. My test will be next Friday, so fingers crossed until then!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! It only took one "normal" one for me.

I'm rooting for you DaisyMae!! Transferring two is great!!

I hope the week will go by quickly for you. Talk about torture--My RE made me wait 2 weeks post the 3 day transfer.

I truly wish you all the best! What are you doing to pass the time this next week?

This sounds really good, DMae. I'm so glad you were able to do the addiitional testing. That could really reveal why you've had unsuccessful cycles when you've responded well. I am *truly* hoping this is your moment.

Thank you for all the well wishes. Poet, I hope this is it too. It would be nice if this was the answer and could explain why we've had so many failures in the past.

Kelly, my doctor does tests 14 days post retreival. So after a 3 day transfer, I had to wait 11 days and after this 5 day it would be 9 days but we're planning on going away for the weekend so they're letting me have my test one day early. Regardless, it is always a tough wait!!!

Ugh. This 2ww seems to be tougher than the previous ones (and it's not even really two weeks!). I have been ridiculously cranky all day and would not blame my husband if he decided to go hide out at a friend's house tonight! I know I'm doing it and I just can't help myself. Everything he does just seems to be annoying me or upsetting me right now. Poor guy. And, I may have the beginnings of a sore throat which is not helping the situation. I only have to survive 5 more days of this I suppose. Thanks for letting me vent ladies. It helps to know you're out there!

OMG, I completely understand. I was going CRAZY during my 2ww. Hang in there!

FWIW, I rented a lot of comedies and just sacked out on the couch my last 2ww, watched a whole season of The Office.

Thanks ladies. I appreciate the support. I think part of the problem is that I am a very active person. I go to the gym 6 - 7 days/week and ride horses on top of that. Now I'm not able to do much of anything and so I have all of this pent up energy. In past cycles I've gone back to the gym and have done the elliptical machine and just took time off from running and riding. This time I'm being much more careful. Walking should be safe though, right? Maybe walking a couple of miles in the morning would help. I'm going to go crazy if I don't do something.
