art techniques and artists

Can anyone help me create a list of specific techniques and an example of an artist who used it. My dd loves art and I would like to rotate through some artists who used different techniques and then I would like to let her try it out. I am drawing a blank though. I know that Eric Carle (illustrator) used tissue paper collage. I can't remember who is known for pointellism (I will be looking that up). But what else. I want at least six ideas.

I would suggest that you check out the Usborne Book called "Art Treasury". It is a wonderful resource for this kind of art study. It alternates between a two page spread on a specific artist and then a two page spread on an art project that uses similar techniques.

I was an Art major in college, and actually did a project about this:

Georges Seurat-Pointilism
Edvard Munch-Expressionism
Claude Monet-Impressionism
Pablo Picasso-Cubism
Henri de Toulouse Lautrec-Post Impressionist
Ross Bleckner-Modern art

I highly recommend the book Discovering Great Artists! You can use the Look inside feature at Amazon to get an idea of what it's like. They also have Great American Artists for Kids by the same author, which looks like the same type of book.

Thanks everyone! I've got books on hold at the library now. . . I am sure I will find lots of great stuff.
