Mamas of late crawling older babies- talk to me! - Page 2

My DD is almost 10 months and just started army crawling a few weeks ago. She hasn't really mastered it, but she sure loves to stand and cruise on anything she can get her hands on. Our pediatrician says babies who crawl late tend to walk early. Don't know if it's true, but I'm comfortable with my LO's development. She's a smart, funny, and sweet little girl.

I've got an active army crawler but she can't sit up or pull up LOL. They all just do things at their own pace and when they want to!

My DD crawled around 8-9 mo. In my family, every kid did everything early. Myself and sibs walked by 10mo, read by 2.5-3yo, etc. My DH's family, the opposite. His family thought one of his aunts was deaf because she didn't talk until 4 or something, and DH didn't read until 6(?)yo. But we both went to great schools and are smart professionals. So far DD has been developing at about average speed, a perfect mix of DH and me! You can't really make babies do things anyway, so why worry?

Lots of babies skip crawling.

And even the ones who do crawl don't necessarily do the "rocking on hands and knees" thing. Lina walked a bit early and she worked on crawling by sort of falling forward from a sitting position into laying on her tummy (and complaining) for about a month. I was sooo worried that she never got up on her hands and knees .
