Should I worry or is this a growth spurt?

My 5 and 1/2 month old has been acting strangely the past couple of days. She is sleeping much more during the day, more fussy when she's awake. She is eating a lot more.. and generally just seems to be acting 'off'. She isn't as active as she was, when I lay her down for tummy time, she'll hold her head up for a bit and then just lay it down and lay there. She seems tired a lot.

Is this a growth spurt, or should I worry that something is wrong?

With all my breastfed babies, I've often found that they tend not to get full-out sick very often, but when there is a virus or something that they are fighting off they act very much as you are describing your dd.

Give her a few days and see where she's at. In all likelihood, she'll be back to her old self in no time.

*hugs* it's so hard to know at that age what is a virus, teething, growth spurt or just a change in personality/mood. I would watch closely and trust your mama instinct. I remember ds going through phases exactly like you're describing and often they were growth spurts or a new skill being learned or on the verge of. I wouldn't worry!
