I love my DH!

So tonight, DS had a major meltdown. Sick, teething, tired, and unhappy about his "uncle David" leaving, nothing DH or I did would calm him down. I kept trying to nurse him, but his nose was stopped up so he had a really hard time and would just scream more. Finally I got him to nurse, and he calmed right down. Within 10 minutes he was ASLEEP!

I said to DH-- "aren't you glad I'm still nursing?"
DH-- "Oh YES! You can nurse him as long as you want."

Disclaimer: of course I know I can nurse as long as I want, but it is just wonderful to have that support from my DH, when I am getting so many unsupportive comments now that DS isn't a "baby" anymore.

Just had to share!

I'm mad at mine right now, and your post reminded me how lucky we are to have one of the good ones

I love those moments when DH and I agree that we're glad we're still nursing. My DH sometimes tentatively asks me, "When do you think you'll wean?"

My DD has had an upset tummy this week and I'm so glad I can nurse her and know she's hydrated and getting the best nutrition possible, still!

That's awesome! I remember when DS got to about your DS's age, and I would have times when I just wanted DH to be able to put him to bed for once, and DH would encourage me to keep nursing him for as long as possible. His main concern was that DS, who was frequently sick, got as many anitbodies from me as he could, for as long as possible. It was great to have that support and encouragement from him.
