Anything you can NOT eat?

I don't mean, not allowed, I mean some things that just make you want to gag that you otherwise enjoy. I didn't experience this the last time I was pregnant but my appetite was pretty low the 1rst trimester. This time there are things that I normally enjoy but the THOUGHT of them now makes me want to vomit!
Mainly coffee (I used to drink 2-3 cups a day) and chicken.:Puke

for the first couple of months, it was chicken, and it's been sweets for most of the pregnancy. Cheese is really hit or miss. Normally, I'm a huge fan of more gourmet stronger cheeses, including manchego, drunken goat, and very aged gouda. Now, medium cheddar is about as strong as I can go.

I don't have any this pregnancy, but my first i couldn't eat chicken or turkey the entire time... it lasted a couple of months after I had her too! (and I still can't stand the smell of those grocery store pre-cooked chickens)

Coffee.
Cottage cheese.
Fried eggs.

Pretty much anything bland or mushy or both.
I have been living off of SPICY food.

It's getting a little better, though.

This is funny because the only thing that makes me not feel like puking is eating fried egg sandwiches and I HATE eggs, LOL!

Early on for me it was anything garlicy.... and usually I eat so much of the darn stuff I sweat it. Luckily, that went away after a week or two into the 2nd tri and I can eat all the garlic I want again

It was garlic for me too! I usually love garlic! I'm doing better with it now but man, I would gag and want to puke just from smelling it on anyone who ate it.

Watermelon and iceburg lettuce. Know idea why, it makes me sick.

Ditto on the garlic. I too could eat it raw with a smile and now...yuck!

On my list also seems to be meat, fishy fish like salmon, any pre-made food smells make me green..like the deli counter in a grocery store or smells wafting from a chinese food place..YUCK.

Not a fan of traditional pasta sauce.

I kind of only want to eat veggies and ice cream. Help.

The smell of iceberg lettuce (let alone the taste) was somehow so extreme to me until 20 weeks or so it couldn't be in the house. And I could tell if DH had some that day. Don't know what that was all about. Oh, and chicken. I can eat it now, though! Still staying away from iceberg lettuce, though, just for safety's sake.

I still (3 years later) cannot eat Chicken Noodle soup because I threw it up in my first pregnancy.

steak & greenbeans

Just the thought of either makes me heave..... yuck.

Shrimp and pesto.

So weird- but my first and only bout with morning sickness this pregnancy, I made shrimp fettucini with red pepper pesto and couldn't eat any of it. I still don't want to see it or think about it. Even writing the words makes me gag a bit.

Unfortunate since DH RAVED and raved about it, and is still asking for it now... Not happening!

Last pregnancy it was any sort of meat for the first trimester, then eggs and yogurt for the last few months. Bad bad.

Kale. It doesn't taste or smell bad to me, but every time I eat it I vomit...still, at 28 weeks. It always sounds like a good idea until I eat it. Even chopped to tiny bits in the food processor and added to omelettes in small amounts it makes me sick, despite the fact that I can't even taste it then. Something in it is NOT good for this baby.

I can't eat tomatoes either, but that's probably because they're out of season and grocery store tomatoes taste like watery, mealy, mushy cardboard. Blech.

peanut butter. I make PB J sandwitches daily with it- at least I used to, and now I can't even be in the room with the smell. It's really weird. I've had no problems with it in past pregnancies, but I can't stand it now.

I had this with DD, onions too, and she has sensitivities to both. I just started to be able to eat them without giving her colick/reflux when she was 8-9 months old.

I vehemently cannot eat tomatoes or anything made with tomatoes. Also, other nightshades like red peppers. I read that tomatoes are linked with acid reflux so that may be why. In the first tri, I could not even have a tomato product in the house or looking at it would make me sick. I made DH clean out the fridge of all tomato things!

I'm so glad to see that others are having the same issue with COFFEE.

I love coffee, I'm a total junkie. And I love sweets and baked goods. Usually for the past several years I'd start my day witha cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll, homemade scone, a doughnut, etc. Now, I just can't stomach either. I bought some decaf when I learned I was pregnant but have only managed a few cups of it.

I still like a little bit of caffeine to help me get started in the morning and to ease constipation, so I'll usually drink a can of diet coke instead. I know in general it's probably better for me anyway, in that it's a lot less caffeine. But I miss my coffee.

Onions.... I used to eat them raw on sandwiches, now even onion powder in soup, or chili, makes me nauseated for a whole day.
My favorite breakfast used to be eggs on toast. Sick.
I ate whole grain pasta for my whole second trimester. Now any kind of pasta/pasta sauce is icky. And I haven't wanted to eat cheese or consume any dairy for the past 8 months.
Oh, but I don't throw up, my nausea just increases.

At least the coffee has antioxidants and such. The artificial sweetners in diet soda are nasty. If I need some caffeine for any reason (it is the only thing that helps my pregnancy induced migraines) I eat some chocolate- mmmm....
