Birthing the placenta...

With DD2 it took about 45 minutes for me to birth the placenta, which wasn't a big deal, but OMGosh the ctx to do so were he**!! (despite moving around as I pleased...it was an unassisted HB) Is there any way to help ease that, since obviously they're far more noticable once the baby is already out (at least IMO)?

I usually associate painful contractions before the placenta is out to the placenta being detached and blood irritating the uterus. a general rule is that placentas are usually detached 3 contractions after birth yes there are exceptions but I would recommend trying to lunge or squat with a bit of guidance for the placenta, or try sitting on the toilet emptying your bladder--
for painful after pains after the placenta is out saint john'swort tincture , ibuprofen
