anyone else working out? - Page 2

im planning, tonight, to try something new. Because I have a problem falling and staying asleep, every time I wake up (about every 1 1/2 hours) im going to clean until I am exhausted again, then sleep until I wake up again... and see if that either 1. helps me sleep through the night or 2. finally gets my house clean.

Either way I win!

I can barely get out of bed. In fact, I am now spending many hours in bed...or on the couch.

I actually crawled into the kitchen and sat next to the fridge to get stuff out for cooking.

Glad I didn't drop that $$$ on the classes afterall lol.
Well...I did just come here to admit I have not done a single thing that could qualify as exercise this week! I've been tired, the girls had colds, and now I have their cold. I won't be going to boot camp the rest of the week, but I should be back on track for Monday. I've been averaging 3 days a week of boot camp so far

I love the way you think!

This week:
Monday- 2 mile run- 2 mile walk
Tuesday- weights (upper body) 30 min elliptical
Wednesday- rest
Thursday- 1 mile run- 2 mile walk
Friday-2 mile run
Saturday-rest
Sunday- 30 minute yoga

I am hoping to get 2 days of gym in and at least 2 days running (maybe 2 days of yoga???)

I am feeling pretty good this week with nausea only after lunch! I think it is beginning to go away which would be the same as with DD, I was feeling fabulous all the time by 11 weeks (only 4 more days!!!)

I ordered three prenatal workout DVDs this weekend. Does that count?

Man I just have to say...I must be a tub a lard heart attack in the making!

2 miles a day...I can't remember the last time I ran one mile.

And I'm not happy about it, but I depressingly find myself wondering if something is wrong with me...how do people do this? (And I guess I'm referring to even outside the 1st trimester). If I ran 2 miles, if I could even get through the 1st mile w/o an attack, I'd have a fever and be in bed the next day.

I am seriously not feeling good about my body after reading what you women can do in the 1st trimester.

If it makes you feel any better...I don't know how I'm doing it either! I am not a runner. AT ALL. I hate it. But, it's part of the workout that our boot camp does and I seem to be getting better and better at it (i.e. I don't feel like I want to die after running for 2 seconds) but, I never ever would have been able to start something like running while I was preggo...otherwise I would really have died I think Sometimes I spend the rest of the day unable to do anything because my energy is zapped. I hope that goes away in the second tri!

I'm currently 10 wks, 4 days and just starting to feel better and getting some energy back! So my plan is start hitting the gym again in addition to my daily 40 min walks (someone has to walk the dog). I think i'm going to buy a trainer to put my bike on so I can just do that in the basement while watching tv.

I did get my butt kicked today doing prenatal yoga for the first time. Good lord!!! I'm normally a runner and I didn't think yoga would do this to me. boy, was I wrong!

Wow, i feel terrible today. DD slept so bad last night and I am feeling so sick. The plan was to go to the gym today, but I can't even heft myself off the seat, let alone onto a treadmill.

Hopefully the rest of the week will get better.

How much sleep I get the night before definitely affects my ability to work out the next day. Way more than it ever did non pregnant!

Hell no! I can barely manage a full-time job and doing the basics of life like preparing a meal and brushing teeth.

God bless you if you have the energy and desire to workout! I hope to be there soon! I'm starting to really feel better so think I should be hitting the pavement next week.

This week was not so good, but I will post anyway:

Monday-off
Tuesday- 4 mile walk
Wednesday-off
Thursday- 2 mile run/ 2 mile walk
Friday-off
Saturday- upper body weights only
Sunday-off

Hopefully I will get to the gym this next week and do some yoga etc. DD is sick so I don't know about what I can do tomorrow.

Good luck to all of you guys too!

I finally got one of the DVDs I ordered, so I did some yoga last night.

I envy ya'll with your walking-- it's still so frickin cold here, unseasonably cold. Only a few more weeks and hopefully I can do some long walks, too... then in a few more months, swimming

Last week I didn't go to boot camp at all (circumstances with the car...) but I did do some hiking by the waterfall that's about a mile away on a very steep hill so that counts No boot camp today because of the holiday but I'll be back at it tomorrow!

Hooray for all of us getting out there movin our bodies

Well here is my weekly check in. This week was a bit better:

Monday- 20 minutes of squats and lunges in my back yard (by far my toughest workout)
Tuesday- off
Wednesday-30 minute elliptical and upper body weights
Thursday-2 mile run/ 3 mile walk
Friday-15 minutes yoga (DD was 'helping' me, so didn't get the full workout in)
Saturday- 30 min elliptical upper body weights
Sunday- About to do 30 minutes of prenatal yoga

The sun finally came out Thursday and my first trimester exhaustion disappeared the same day, so I've been walking to the park (about a mile away) every day with my husband and just hanging out, talking and watching all the children playing in the park with their parents, etc. Then last night we went rollerskating, for which I caught a fair bit of flack from my mom, even though I didn't fall down or anything (I was very cautious and slow, and stayed near the wall. I'm 11 weeks and some days, and this week is the first time I've done anything even remotely active since whenever my last post to this thread was. I had such high hopes.

Kudos to all of you that have been working out from the very beginning and all through this first trimester!

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and I JUST got the energy to start exercising again this weekend. Started on Saturday with this fitness DVD I ordered on Amazon:

My midwife suggested it along with the yoga video I ordered. Because I am shooting for a vbac, we (me, DH, and midwife) want me to be in the best shape possible. Want as many things going for me as possible.

It totally kicked my butt. Strength-training focused, but in that heart-rate-raising, have you sweating bullets in the end type of way. And I can feel muscles that I thought had shriveled up and disappeared a long time ago. It's a quick workout (about 40 minutes including warm up and cool down) but hits all the major muscle groups including kegels.

I plan to alternate this video with my prenatal yoga video.

I'm doing the DVD-method of working out right now, too... I hope to do a lot of walking and swimming later on, but it's still too cold here.

I've got two yoga DVD's, the Shiva Rea one and the Yoga Journal Lamaze one.

Really of the two I like the menu layout of the Yoga Journal one better (easy to navigate), and I like the actual workout of the Shiva Rea one better (actually gives you some time in each pose instead of bouncing around-- the Yoga Journal ones moves WAY too fast, in some parts it seems like it's too jerky and not stretchy enough).

I like the yoga and stretching and breathing, but want something more active, so I've also ordered this Summer Sanders one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product

The reviews for that one are amazing, I hope I like it.

I left out my link before!

The Perfect Prenatal Workout...

Kelly, I may have to look into the more active yoga dvd you listed!

Not a great week for me, but here it is:
Monday- 30 min elliptical, upper body weights
Tuesday- 2 mile run/ 2 mile walk
Wednesday-Off
Thursday-Off
Friday- 2 mile run
Saturday- 30 min yoga
Sunday-Off

I already have 3 days of runs scheduled with my workout partner, so if I can only do 2 gym days, I would feel great. Add in a couple of Yoga days and it would be a GREAT week!!!
