Ok... are you ready?I went into the storage stuff and separated out 650 items!I'm counting them as gone because my husband agreed to take them to the Salvation Army and we absolutely need them out of the space they're in so he'll actually do it.

I don't know if I should be excited or embarrassed about the total but I sure am glad it's going!

Can I join in too?

I starting boxing stuff up right before Christmas. The junk sat in the dining room and then in my van for several weeks. I had Wed off so dh and I took the stuff to this place called Goodwill Xpress. It was super easy and really close.

I'm planning on doing a little work in our bedroom today, if I can get my pregnant butt off the couch. Dh has been bringing boxes home for me...it definitely helps motivate!

All total we got rid of maybe 80 items...I have to start keeping better count. Christmas knick-knacks, kitchen stuff, books, clothes, shoes

Filled another box this afternoon! More Christmas knick-knack stuff that were gifts from the Christmas before last. I did keep the dollar store Christmas plate my grandma sent. Pre-pregnancy clothes that MIL had made me take.

Another 27 items!

I have 2 boxes of Christmas Stuff sitting by the door waiting to go, plus tossed some broke Christmas ornaments. Then tossed some other stuff earlier today. I would say I am at about 40 ( might be more but I wanna round DOWN so I actually get rid of MORE LOL) Then I had some stuff the other day. So my total is probably a bit higher but I like listing a smaller number

so that puts me at 50/2010

Adding to my 60:

61-75 (estimated): Kitchen/household items - Freecycle
76-90 (estimated): Expired "non-perishables" (oxymoron, eh?) - discarded, containers recycled
91-200 (estimated: Coupon inserts, magazines, booklets, and newspapers (of which there were literally hundreds)...All were previously waiting to be gone through. Now organized and downsized.

So here I am at 200/2010. Ten percent completed! Here's to another successful day tomorrow.

I'm going to join this too. I've been doing the 5 a day for January and that has been going well, but it alone is not going to make a dent. I figured out that 2010 over 12 months is 167-168 items per month, and I think I can do that.

Right now I am at 126 out of 2010. Most of it was clothes.

Woo hoo, I seem to have infected/inspired DH with my decluttering bug... we cleared out under his desk and his wardrobe today

So today we add...

4 items of clothing - charity
1 raggy shirt - bin
9 CDs - charity
4 CDs - bin
1 CD case - recycling
2 random plastic things - recycling
1 old broken children's tent - bin
1 bag papers - recycling
1 bag papers - shredder
1 comic book - charity
1 very old gaming magazine - recycling
1 old mouse mat - bin
1 passport cover - charity
1 computer manual - recycling
1 camera case - charity

Went through my massive collection of reusable bags and pared it down a wee bit...

9 reusable plastic bags - charity shop (they are always looking for bags!)
4 reusable cotton bags - charity shop
2 torn plastic bags - bin

I'm so jealous.Yesterday my husband told me we had to keep the stereo that has been in storage for the last 10 years because it is the only working tape deck that we have.

Joining in cause we've been setting tons of things aside and have way more to get rid of and I need the extra motivation. I'll count it out when it's really on the way out though (we have a few places that'll pick it up from our house around here, but with the snow we missed the last neighborhood pick-up).
