Got rid of a ton of baby items this week!

60 baby girl clothes -freecycled
100 baby girl clothes given to friend
60 baby boy clothes to be freecycled tomorrow

Ran around the house with a trash bag before garbage day:

2 decks of cards with lots missing
3 piles of paper
1 set of dominos with lots missing
6 old ripped books
1 pair holey socks
11 broken/junky toys
10 broken crayons/craft bits
= 34

clinique repairwear cream, gone off
bar toblerone past the eat by date what a waste!
box of crackers never opened but have gone stale in the packet
box of tampons about ten years old, realised I never use those things anymore!

Well after cleaning out my grandmother's home to get it ready to sell, I must confess to bringing a box of items home. I got a new to me knife, dishes, rolling pin, and a beautiful old pitcher. However, within minutes of bringing in the new stuff, I had the box filled with old things to donate. I dropped it off at the thrift shop yesterday. So I didn't backslide too much...

Out: 731-754: kitchen items and DS' outgrown clothing.

Did a bit today and tomorrow dh is taking the girls out for the afternoon so I am really going to go at the toys Simplicity Parenting has been soooo inspiring.

Trash/recycling

1 stray sock
1 broken flashlight
5 old bits of make-up
5 random pieces of junk
48 broken or inappropriate toys

Total = 60

60+500=560/2010

1 DVD player sent to my brother

I went through our old bills and have a large bin to shred, it takes so long!

I put a bunch of toys/baby things in an extra bedroom to sell/give away and the kids LOVE going in there now to play. There are toys in there that they never touched and now they play with them. I still plan on getting rid of them.

I came home from work today and nearly fainted. DH has cleared off his desk and decluttered all the misc paper and odds and ends and other assorted stuff/junk/garbage. Everything appears to have found a home with a few small exceptions. He even CLEANED the desk after!! So, for all the stuff he threw away, I think we deserve 100 towards the total here.

We are having a spell of stunning weather this weekend, which is really bringing on the Spring cleaning vibe, I have all the washed bed linen drying on the line in the sun, mmmmm

To add to my decluttering total:

15 out-of-date foodstuffs - bin (shameful really, I couldn't believe there were so many out of date, I will keep on top of this from now on!)
1 skirt - charity
1 pair children's socks - charity
1 pair children's sandals - charity
1 big bag shredded paper - recycling
1 old card - recycling

1249+20=1269/2010

Doing this has also made me reflect on how I must be more organised about using food I have in the house, before going out to buy new supplies!

I am going to try to menu plan around the things I already have, so I just need to buy the meat or vegetables and other fresh things.

Got some spring cleaning/decluttering done this weekend

Got the following out of my house:

1 broken hanger
1 pr ripped underwear
48 toys
26 books/magazines/cataloges
14 bits of junk
2 baby gates - sold

92 + 560 = 652/2010

I also washed the walls in the front entrance way and put away a bin of toys and bin of books until I decide whether to get rid of them or not.

I'm not counting any of this towards my decluttering total (or some of it has already been counted) but we took a trailer-full of stuff to the dump yesterday and rid our house/yard of 370KG of junk!

As I was filing paperwork tonight, I found some lost jewelry (for 4 years!)

1 pile of papers trash/recycle
1 toy and 1 nursing stool sold on Craigslist

My numbers are going to be going up more slowly as I clear out the worst clutter for me:PAPERWORK

I hope after I clear out the papers so that I know what I have, what I need to do to stay on top of filing and paying bills, I will be able to get my paperwork done in a timely manner!

Went through all the girl clothes I've been hanging onto from newborn up to the winter clothes my youngest just outgrew...

Took 5 garbage-bags-full (NB-18 mos) to a friend also expecting her fifth (but first girl in 10 years!)
Took 5 garbage-bags-full (18-3T) to a friend who's DD is almost a year old.
Took 7 garbage bags of various clothing, toy, and linen items to Goodwill...

Drum roll... 1730/2010!!! Can I get a what-what??!!

I think I'll make it to 2010 before the baby comes!

8 knight/horse set
1 toddler toy camera

1 breathing thing from hospital
1 baby blanket
1 mateless shoe
1 eyeglass case
4 unpaired gloves
1 teaching poster which was torn by my 3 year old

if I counted correctly--78 items!! I have more in my trunk that I haven't counted yet!!
